Fundraising Events The Fundraising Group was formed in November 2004 by Lynne, our Volunteer/Home Visitor Coordinator and some of our existing volunteers and trustees. The group immediately set about the task of raising funds for a new minibus. Previous events Chelsea Building Society, Chapel Road 'Walk the window' event. ****** In April 2006 we held our first ever sponsored walk aka "The Chicken Run" over £3600 was the final total raised! ****** In April 2007 we held our second sponsored walk with St.Georges Day as the theme, £1274.18 was the final total raised! Many thanks go to all those involved, including walkers and volunteer marshalls. ****** Since the 1st of April 2007 our 'home'collection boxes have accumulated the grand total of £496.69, not bad at all considering these are used mainly for 'coppers'! ****** The Christmas Fair, held at our Headquarters on December the 7th, raised £504 in just over an hour and a half, again many thanks to all those who helped make the event such a success. ****** At the beginning of July, Victor Munro who entertains members at our Socials held a fundraising sing song for us in the town centre, we are extremely grateful and proud of the success of the event. With the help of our members and volunteers the total collected on the day was just over £900. |
